This was based off of an actual, existing photo taken from a snorkeling trip to Cancún, Mexico with my family. I wanted to experiment with a painting style I hadn’t tried before, and decided to go with the subject of an underwater scene. The dark figure in the background is originally a shipwreck, but it’s hard to see the details from this angle, as the original photo only captured a broken part of the tail end of the ship.
