lament [art]

Following my growing interest in theology and mythology is, of course, a quick artwork—partially inspired by popular portrayal of angels, and the pointed halo that Apollo is occasionally depicted with. Fun fact: astigmatism (linear blurring of light in the eye, caused often by genetics due to an abnormal shape of the cornea or lens of the eye) can cause artists to draw more halos in spiked or pointed shapes with radial lights extending outward from the center, as that is a closer representation to how those with astigmatism perceive halos of light (saying this as someone with astigmatism).

The process began with a blue-green underpainting, coloring by layering different hues on top, changing the color of the original underpainting to a more maroon shade, and doing some basic blending to remove some of the choppiness.
